This year's Nobel Peace Prize Given to 3 Women

Nobel peace prize this year went to three women from Africa andthe Middle East. They three are fighters peace in their countriesrespective.

Reported by Fox News, Nobel peace award is given to the President of Liberia Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Liberia LeymahGbowee activists, and journalists woman tawakkul Karman, onFriday, October 7, 2011.

At the Norwegian Nobel Committee said that the three women are entitled to award the Nobel Peace on their nonviolent struggle forwomen's rights.

Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, 72, is economists graduates Harvard who became president first woman African democratically elected in 2005. He considered as reformist and creator peace in Liberiawhen served.

Liberia suffered from civil war for years that only stopped in 2003.Johnson-Sirleaf considered successful in maintaining peace andfacilitate the two warring camps.

The second woman who got the Nobel peace prize is LeymahGbowee. He is the founder of the Muslim and Christian women's groups to fight the landlords Liberia. Because of his services to form the character of a brave woman, Gbowee at the 2009 Profilein Courage award, an award for bravery.

Another Nobel laureate, Tawakul Karman, 32, mother of three children. He is a journalist who founded the organization JournalistsWithout Chains, a human rights body for journalists. Karman known for her role as one of the leaders in the protests toppled President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

"We're not going to achieve democracy and sustainable peace in this world, unless women have the same opportunity as men in building every level of society," said one of the Nobel committee.
