Sebuah posting gambar-gambar yang beredar di internet memperlihatkan, nampaknya Research In Motion (RIM) serius untuk melempar layanan instant messaging eksklusif di BlackBerry ke Android.

Techradar mem-posting gambar-gambar dan mereka juga mengklaim ada salah seorang karyawan RIM yang tidak disebutkan namanya mangatakan tidak salah lagi BlackBerry Messenger akan bisa berjalan di Android. Demikian seperti dikutip TG Daily, Kamis (6/10/2011).

Seperti diketahui BlackBerry Messenger atau yang dikenal sebagai BBM, adalah instant messaging platform yang dikhususkan untuk BlackBerry saja. 

Tapi sekarang, ada rumor bahwa RIM akan membawa BBM untuk sistem operasi mobile lainnya, yakni Android untuk pertama kalinya. Ini adalah langkah lain dalam penerimaan RIM yang tidak bisa lagi bertahan memegang aplikasi instant mesagingnya secara eksklusif di platform miliknya sendiri.

Nokia juga mengalami nasib serupa dengan RIM. Di mana sistem operasi Symbian yang hanya dimiliki Nokia dengan cepat tergerus setelah iPhone dan Android memasuki pasar smartphone. Rasanya itu merupakan kegagalan yang besar, sehingga sulit bertindak untuk bersaing dengan perubahan lingkungan dan sekarang pelanggan Nokia sulit menemukan ponsel Nokia di setiap toko yang ada di Amerika Serikat.
