Bees and Honey

Many will be surprised to learn that so far experts have identified over 10,000 varieties of bees and among all of them only one genus produces honey. It has been found that the honey bees are a sort of social pests that live in settlements, each of which may comprise up to 80,000 bees. And each bee in a colony lives with an objective of its own.

Although the worker honey bees strive a lot to provide food, water and nectar to the bees in the hive, it is said that the achievement or prosperity of a hive largely depends on the queen bee. It still remains a mystery to man as to why the worker honey bees only select a few larvae and develop them into queen bees. The larvae selected to develop as queen bees are kept in special cells in the hive and fed with special food - the royal jelly. Normally, the queen bee comes out of her special cell only after 16 days of laying the egg.

The queen bee usually feeds on honey to gain potency and become strong. In the event of having multiple queen bees in one colony, the rival queen bees fight amongst themselves till death leaving one to rule the nest. In such a situation, one of the queen bees may even leave the colony with a swarm of worker honey bees to set up a new colony. Having established her supremacy in the nest, the new queen bee will then fly outside the hive and mate with one or many drones or male honey bees. It has been found, that only one mating with a drone enables the queen bee to lay eggs for the remaining part of her life. Normally, a queen bee can lay as many as 2,000 eggs daily and altogether around 1,000,000 during her entire life span.

It may be mentioned here that drones or male honey bees that grow from unfertilized eggs. As the word ‘drone’ denotes, the male honey bees are lazy and do not perform any work. In addition, the drones do not possess any sting and their sole function is to mate with the queen bees. When the flowering season comes to an end in autumn and there is no supply of honey, the requirement of the drone honey bees too comes to an end. When the season for laying eggs is over, the worker honey bees make the drones starve to death by not providing them with any food or water. One reason for killing the drones such mercilessly is that if they are allowed to survive through the winter, these drones will feed on the stored honey and finish the reserves.

HONEY AND HEALTH

As mentioned earlier, honey encloses several nutrients and is said to be one of the best nourishing substances ever produced by nature. Hence, the health benefits of honey are varied and many. Basically, the use of honey is widespread since time unknown for its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. In addition to this, honey has many other health benefits and they are mentioned below.

• Honey possesses superb qualities that are useful in curing injuries. Among other things, honey has the ability to healburns, injuries and ulcers. Moreover, it is often used as an antibacterial healing means.
• Honey has been found to be immensely beneficial for athletes as it can enhance their performance owing to the presence of ergogenic aids in this natural substance.
• Honey also helps in maintaining the purity of blood by counteracting the harmful free radicals in our system.
• Honey is especially beneficial as a substitute for sugar for people suffering from type 2 diabetes and having high cholesterol levels in their blood.
• In addition, honey helps in alleviating blockage of the nasal openings, offers respite from cough and aids in the absorption of ingested food in the alimentary canal and cures conjunctivitis. When honey is taken along with a mug of hot milk, it also helps in inducing sleep.
• Researches have demonstrated that honey is useful in alleviating the body tissues and also aids in preserving calcium in the body.
• Honey is also an effective medication to avoid anemia. In fact, honey is known to work against anemia.
• Regular intake of honey also helps to invigorate the immune system in our body.

HONEY AS A BEAUTY HELPER

Applying honey on your body not only helps to make your skin shine, but also improves the blood circulation. Before taking a shower, rub some honey on your skin and keep patting it until the honey becomes muggy. Then wash off the honey while showering and see the pleasant change. Bathing your hair with a blend of honey and lime helps to bring back the shine to your hair and keeps it healthy. Similarly, your skin will become radiant if you mix one-fourth teaspoon of honey in your bath regularly.
A paste made of honey along with crushed almonds and oatmeal functions as an excellent face cleanser. Apply this paste on your face and keep it for around 20 to 30 minutes and you will find your face glowing. This is primarily because the paste acts as scrub and peels off the dead skin cells, while toning the facial muscles. On the other hand, if you prepare a paste mixing appleand honey and apply it on your face for about 15 minutes, it will act as an excellent moisturizer. Applying this natural moisturizer regularly will help to keep your facial skin supple as well as compact.
Honey can also be used to prepare a facial mask. To prepare this facial mask blend two teaspoon of honey with two teaspoon of milk and apply it on your face. Leave the facial pack undisturbed for about 10 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. You will now be amazed to see how your facial skin radiates. It has been found that applying honey on dry skin acts as an effective lotion. Blend one-fourth teaspoon of lemon with one teaspoon of any vegetable oil and one teaspoon of honey and apply it on your skin. Leave the lotion for 10 minutes and then wash it away with cold water. Now, see the effect. Your skin has become soft and supple with no sign of dryness.
Here, it is important to remember that the above mentioned processes need to be followed regularly with a view to get the best results.

PREPARING SEASONED DESERTS AND FRUITS WITH HONEY

It has been a common practice to use honey to add essence or tang to desserts and several fruits. The tartness contained in honey enables the fruits to preserve their natural hue. However, when adding honey to fruits it is essential to bear in mind that you use a gentle quality of honey, or else the honey will overshadow the essence or taste of the fruits. Honey also helps to preserve fruits for a longer time enabling you to enjoy them when they are not in season. Here is how you can preserve the fruits, both cut pieces as well as whole fruits.

• If you want to preserve a seasonal fruit for the next winter season, you may add honey to the cut or squashed fruits and keep them in the refrigerator. Normally, one cup of water and two cups of honey are required to preserve a whole fruit. While preserving a whole fruit make certain that the entire fruit is covered by the water and honey.
• Honey is also useful as a spread over fruit puree as it enhances the latter’s flavor.
• A blend of honey and yogurt is an excellent desert. Give it a try and you will remember the flavor for long.
• Substituting sugar with honey in pancakes makes them taste delicious.
• You may also spread honey over banana to prepare a delicious pudding.

Learning from the Insect

Do we feel great as a human being? Do we feel better as a living creature than any other living creature. Yes, we are indeed living beings granted by the Supreme excess. One is that we are given reasonable mind. The goal is nothing that we want to think about everything that happens around us. Then, have we thought about the little creatures that are often found in our everyday lives? You're certainly very familiar with insects, namely mosquitoes, flies, dragonflies, and others. Surely they were created not to be wasted but to be understood. This is why the Almighty warned in the Qur'an about the parable of mosquitoes that are justified by the faithful but denied by unbelievers (Sura 2: 26). Just look at how a fly can fly at a very high when compared to his size. See also dragonflies can travel as fast as 40 km / hour. See also insects or even smaller at 50 km / hour. When compared with humans may only be comparable if we use the jet. However, when compared with the size of a jet flies, it is clear that the flies actually fly faster than a jet plane. The jet uses a special fuel to drive the high-speed machines. Fly fly power requires high levels of energy. There also needs large amounts of oxygen to burn energy. Needs large amounts of oxygen are met by the respiratory system yan extraordinary in the body of flies and other insects. This truth is echoed by the faithful. 

Of insects, we can learn many things. Of insects, we can know ourselves who we really are. So, if we are so easy to kill flies and mosquitoes, and considered them as nuisance insects, have we learned to understand how they are created? And ... can we create an insect? Wallahu’alam

SpiderMan 4 Sequel Gets a Release Date

Sony wants to stay in the Spider-Man business.
Perhaps to beat Marvel and Warner Bros. before they can announce another their own comic book adaptations for 2014, The LA Times reports Columbia executives have Sony Pictures has set a May 2, 2014, release date for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, less than two years after The Amazing Spider-Man reaches theaters on July 3, 2012. A spokesman said that the scheduling "speaks volumes" about the studio's confidence in director Marc Webb's reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. Clearly, the studio has seen more than the recently released first trailer.

The scheduling of the sequel also ostensibly "speaks volumes" in the studio's confidence in Amazing Spider-Man screenwriter James Vanderbilt, who was hired to write an initial draft for the sequel in March.

The Amazing Spider-Man is currently in post-production, and still has 11 months to go before reaching theaters. Sony just released some new, hi-res photos from the upcoming movie, including shots of Denis Leary as Capt. George Stacy in full police uniform brandishing his firearm and Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) beating Flash Thompson (Chris Zylka) at basketball and then throwing him into a locker. Wait, which one of them is the bully again?

Based on the Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, The Amazing Spider-Man cast includes Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors, a.k.a. the Lizard, Campbell Scott and Julianne Nicholson as Richard and Mary Parker, Irrfan Khan as Van Atter, C. Thomas Howell as Ray, with Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May. Vanderbilt adapted the initial screenplay, while Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves performed rewrites.

Seminar Proposal Ku Part 2

Ting dung,,, ting,, dung,,, begitu lah kiranya bunyi alarm di HP androidku. Semalam aku udah mengaktifkan alarm di HP pada jam 8 pagi. Dengan malasnya aku terpaksa bangun mengingat ntar siang aku bakalan ada seminar proposal ku. Dengan perlahan tapi pasti aku langkah kan kaki ku ke kamar mandi, namun ku urung niat ku karena ada yang lebih penting, yaitu aku harus menyetor setoran tunai dulu di WC ku. #Hahahhaha. Setelah beberapa menit di bilik temenung #(WC malay version ), baru lah aku pergi ke kamar mandi untuk mandi dan bersih2 badan.
Sehabis mandi dan ganti baju, ngaca dikit narsis dikit barulah melihat-lihat kembali slide untuk seminar nanti, mempelajari gimana cara presentasi yang baek dan lebih memahami konsep. Lalu jam 8.30am berangkat dari rumah. Di jalan nyari bengkel dulu, si biru (F1ZR tahun 2005) belum di kasih obat kuat (Oli Samping). Oke kita isi dulu ya biru... setelah beli dan isi, ternyata si biru haus perlu cari minum (Bensin) dulu neh dah kritis, cari SPBU terdekat yaitu di jalan Riau ujung sebelah tempat karaoke Happy Puppy. Setelah di kasih minum baru lah semangat lagi jalan ke kampus, ngeeeeeeeeeng.....
Sebelum nyampe kampus singgah dulu bentar di rumah teman, rio hilmi buat minjam laptopnya, kebetulan dari semester awal mpe sekarang aku blm punya laptop tp alhamdulillah ya ( syahrini version)... masih bisa bertahan. ehehhe.

Setelah nyampe di kampus, hal pertama yang ku lakuin ya... minjam infokus dulu di akademik, kan g lucu klo seminar g pake infokus. Ya g? Ya g? hehhehe. Udah dapat neh infokusnya, naek lantai 3. Hufft... capek.... dah nyampe lantai tiga langsung masuk ruangan dosen. ingatin pak penguji, ingatin buk penguji dan pak pembimbing. setelah diingatin waktunya menunggu, karena masih ada 2 setengah jam lagi menuju jam 1. Setel alarm hp jam 11 buat ingatin waktu membeli kue sudah tiba. setelah di set. kembali menunggu. Eh aku lupa, ternya hari ini jam 10.30 aku ada kuliah, terpaksa izin dulu deh sama dosennya. untung nya di beri izin. Dosennya baik sih, hehhehe.

Lanjut...!!!!

Oke, alarm berbunyi, langsung bergerak ke tempat jualan roti sama teman ku Ardian saputra. untung dia mau nemanin. heheh... setelah di pertengahan jalan subrantas dekat tabek gadang ternyata traffic light nya mati. ada pengalihan jalan, mana panas lagi, g sempat pake sarung tangan cing.... item deh... :( . Sesampainya di Van#olano langsung bergegas nyari roti terbaik untuk para dosen, akhir nya nemu pada kue bantal dengan taburan coklat menggiurkan bli rangkap 3 dan roti bulat dengan isi selay strowbery di dalamnya, juga rangkap 3. wahhh menggiurkan... uups.. lupa, bli makan g minum... yang ada keselek ntar dosennya, bisa2 gagal pula. bli minum 4 untuk aku 1. heheh. Siiip semua siap pikirku. langsung balik ke kampus, namun sebelumnya bli cemilan buat anak2 yang nonton seminarku. Setelah semua beres, baru langsung ke kampus.

Setelah nyampe kampus, parkirin motor, turunin barang, lalu menuju lantai 3 lagi Hufft... mesti ngerasiin capek naek tangga lagi. Sebelum nyampe ke atas, anak-anak laen pada sibuk nannya in siapa yang seminar, ku jawab aja g aku, cz waktu bawa makanan aku g make baju kebangsaan ( Putih Hitam ) setiap kampus untuk Ujian dan Seminar. hehhehe #Akal Bulus. 
Oke,,,, sampai neh ceritanya di lantai 3. setelah nyampe, atur2 alat, mulai dari infokus dan laptop tadi. Setelah fix semua, kembali aku menuju ruang dosen buat mengingatkan pembimbing dan penguji tentang jadwal seminar aku. OKe, sudah di ingatkan. Kembali ke ruang munaqosah untuk duduk dan ngobrol bareng teman2 seperjuangan.

Tanpa di duga, pak penguji aku langsung menemui aku dan di susul oleh dosen lainnya. Ternyata seminar aku di percepat katanya. ASTAGA...!!!! dalam hatiku berkata, MATI AKU.... :( . Baik lah life must go on. Oke setelah pak pembimbing menyampaikan kata sambutan, mulai lah waktu ku untuk menyampaikan materi proposalku. Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,Bla,,,,bla,,,bla,,,
Udah panjang aku berkoar-koar dan habis lah slide presentasi aku. Alhamdulillah kataku dalam hati. Sudah selesai siksaan tahap 1.

Penguji 1: Coba kamu jelaskan bagai mana cara kerja dari aplikasi yang akan kamu buat nanti???

Baeklah. begini pak... dengan lancar dan jelas ku ungkapkan semua isi hatiku ke bapak tuh. Dengan terangguk-angguk dan mengerti bapak itu mengiyakan apa kata ku, karena secara ilmu, bapak neh tau tentang aplikasi yang bakal ku buat, ternyata bapak neh mensupport aku sepenuhnya dengan TA yang ku buat. Alhamdulillah.
Lalu masuk ke Penguji 2.

Penguji 2 : Lantas Bahasa Pemograman apa yang kamu pakai disini???

Kembali dengan lancar aku menjawabnya,

Aku : Ada buk, menggunakan bahasa pemograman C# namun hanya sedikit menggunakan bahasa pemograman, disini lebih banyak dalam pengembangan produck nya dan pembuatan objek 3D nya buk.

Lalu Penguji 1 menambahkan,

Penguji 1 : Iya buk benar, di dalam penelitian TA dia coding tidak terlalu banyak karena TA dia adalah bagaimana menghasilkan produk teknologi baru.

Alahamdulillah ya.... pak penguji 1 membantu ku menjawab pertannyaan.
Akahirnya setelah melewati 2 pertanyaan itu saja. Seminarku selesai dan dinyatakan LULUS untuk melanjutkan ke Tugas Akhir yang sebenarnya.

Seminar Proposal Ku

Tuhan bersama mahasiswa tingkat akhir, 
Ini kata-kata penyemangat bagi mahasiswa-mahasiswa tingkat akhir seperti saya dan juga teman2 yang laen, Hohoho. Hari itu tanggal berapa ntah lah aku lupa, namun yang pasti beberapa minggu sebelum hari RAYA IDUL FITRI 1432H. Hari itu telah melakukan jilid keras hasil seminar KP ( Kerja Praktekku) di salah satu Bank milik Pemerintah Daerah Riau. Oh ya... aku belum menceritakan siapa aku ya... baek lah akan ku mulai dari SIAPAKAH AKU????

Perkenalkan namaku Ichsan Pratama, aku anak pertama dari 4 bersaudara, dua di bawah aku adek laki-laki, dan yang terakhir dapat adek perempuan yang sangat cantik. Aku asli anak Riau, tepatnya di kota Pekanbaru Bertuah. Aku lahir bulan desember 1988. Aku SD di SD027 Siak dan Kuliah di UIN SUSKA RIAU-Pekanbaru. Aku kuliah jurusan Teknik Informatika dan aku semester akhir sekarang.  Aku senang akhirnya aku hampir menuju pintu keluar, hanya perlu beberapa langkah lagi untuk mencapainya. Hehehehe.... Okey let's back to topic (maav klo english nya "amburaduldul"  maav untuk nama yang terpakai, tidak bermaksud melecehkan atau yang lain : )

Sudah kenal kan sama aku, Heheheh,
Ok setelah menyerahkan laporan KP yang udah di Jilid RANGKAP 4  yang tebalnya kira-kira 1cm-an lah / 1 jilidnya #pasti ngomong g penting bgt kan. hahhaha :D. Ok lanjut lagi. Aku langsung menghadap dosen yang bertindak sebagai koordinator TA ( Tugas Akhir ) untuk mengantarkan judul TA yang sudah ku buat dimalam sebelumnya. Setelah judul disetujui #HORE....HORE....dan akhirnya aku mendapat pembimbing TA ku, tanpa membuang2 waktu ku ambil surat permintaan permohonan pembimbing TA yang telah di buat oleh Koordinator TA untuk di antar ke pembimbing, setelah pembimbing setuju aku langsung memberikan laporan TA ku Bab 1-3 untuk langsung di periksa. Kalian tau apa katanya?????

Pembimbing TA ;  Cepat sekali kamu menyelesaikannya, baru menyerahkan hasil jilid keras Kerja Praktek dan sekarang langsung Mengerjakan TA. Bagus!!! Langsung seminar proposal saja kamu, cepat tanya koordinator TA.

 Karena pembimbing menyuruh begitu langsung aku kembali ke meja Koordinator TA untuk melaksanakan Seminar. Namun setelah bertemu bapak tersebut minta maaf karena jadwal untuk seminar sudah penuh dan juga dalam beberapa hari lagi orang sudah hari raya idul fitri, bagaimana setelah hari raya saja " kata pak kordinator". Apa boleh buat terpaksa menunggu beberapa minggu. :(

Perlu kuceritakan pula hari setelah itu sampai hari raya??? #pasti jawabannya tidak.... hahhaha

9 September 2011, Hari pertama kuliah
Di hari pertama kuliah aku langsung menemui koordinator TA untuk menagih janji. hehehhe. Naek lantai 2 kampus, ngos-ngosan..., naek lantai 3 kampus,... lebih ngos-ngosan #Maav ngelebay dikit :D. Setelah di lantai 3 dan masuk ke ruang dosen, Alhamdulillah Bapak nya ada. mendekati bapak koordinator, ngomong2 dikit, basabasi dikit dan langsung nyampein maksud dan tujuan. Kasih Surat-Surat, Lengkapi berkas-berkas pengajuan Seminar, dapat Penguji 2 Orang #Katanya sih pengujinya sanger-sanger,  tp, LANJUT,,,, :D.
Setelah semua beres, surat penguji dan surat peminjaman ruangan dapat. waktunya jadi pak pos.... :( ngantar surat, naek turun tangga #ngos-ngosan lagi Huffftttt . Atur Jadwal yang sesuai dengan dosen pembimbing dan dapat lah waktu yang tepat. yaitu Rabu, 14 September 2011 jam 1 siang. Kasih tau teman2 yang laen agar datang waktu seminarku :).


Selasa  13 September 2011, 20.00wib (Malam menjelang seminar besok pagi)
Seperti biasa waktu kuliah, sehari sebelum presentasi baru belajar, #Maklum mahasiswa, Hidup Mahasiswa!!!! Setelah belajar dan menguasai materi untuk pagi aku berniat mengingatkan Dosen pembimbing dan penguji agar tidak lupa pada seminar ku besok. maka SMS di mulai.

Penguji 1      BAD #jangan mikir buruk dulu. Ternyata Doesn Penguji 1 tidak dapat hadir karena ada mengajar. hal ini dikarenakan adanya perubahan jadwal mendadak.

Ya..................... di tunda seminarku :(
OK gpp lah. pikirku masih bisa di cari hari laen. SEMANGAT... pencarian hari terbaik seminar dimulai.
Minggu depan ku pikir. setelah bertanya ke dosen bersangkutan ternyata tidak ada yang bisa.
Tanggal 26 ku usulkan ternyata bisa semua. ok balik ke koordinator TA untuk peminjaman ruang lagi untuk tanggal 26 di jam yang sama. setelah dapat surat peminjaman ruang, langsung antar ke bagian pengurusan ruang. #g tau aku selama ini ruangan apa itu hahha. Setelah nama di tulis untuk yang ke 2 kalinya di papan pengumuman, aku langsung pulang.

Kali ini beda. aku udah g ada belajar untuk presentasi besok, InsyaAllah aku bisa.
Lalu kembali mengingatin dosen penguji dan pembimbing dengan SMS. SMS di mulai. Namun apa... :(

Pembimbing BAD #jangan mikir buruk dulu. Ternyata Dosen pembimbing tidak dapat hadir karena bapak tersebut ketua dari acara kuliah umum yang kebetulan di laksanakan pada hari itu.

Cerita kembali ke atas. hufft.... capek ngulang2 nya... intinya sama seperti yang sebelumnya. Kali ini di sepakati hari senin juga tanggal 03 Oktober 2011 #YAP, besok tepatnya.


Moga aja kali ini bakal lancar-lancar saja tanpa ada halangan, Agar aku bisa cepat menyelesaikan Tugas Akhir ku dan melangkah ke pintu keluar pintu meraih masa depan yang gemilang. AMIN

YAP... sudah sampai di akhir cerita tentang seminar proposal ku, maaf klo ceritanya membosankan namun inilah karya ku.
